Why join the Kora Summer School

Over the past decade, Kora has become a hub for young people seeking meaningful experiences in sustainability, regenerative agriculture, community living and personal growth.

Through the Erasmus+ programme, we host dozens of learners every year through youth exchanges, volunteering programmes and training activities.

The Summer School was created to go deeper.

It offers motivated participants the opportunity to spend one full month living and learning in a regenerative farm community, exploring sustainability not only as a concept, but as a daily practice.

Here, learning happens through hands-on activities, shared experiences, and meaningful conversations.

Learn in a real regenerative farm

The Summer School takes place at La Buona Terra Educational Farm, located in the hills of Umbria.

This is not a classroom separated from reality: it is a living ecosystem where learning is embedded in daily life.

The farm includes:

• a permaculture garden
• olive groves and a natural essential oil distillery
• outdoor kitchens and natural building structures
compost toilets and greywater systems
• workshops, classrooms and community spaces
• chickens, herbs, worms, and a lot of life

Participants don’t just study sustainability: they cook it, plant it, build it, and live it.

The Teachers

The Summer School brings together a diverse group of educators, practitioners and community builders working in sustainability, permaculture and social innovation.

The Accommodation

Participants live together at La Buona Terra, surrounded by nature and overlooking the lake.

About the venue

La Buona Terra is one of Italy’s first educational farms, with over 30 years of history. It focuses on environmental education and small scale production, hosting hundreds of young learners from across the World every year. In summer, the eco-friendly campsite features glamping tents, solar showers, and compost toilets.

The farm centers on a 9-hectare olive grove with ancient and young trees, producing organic extra virgin olive oil in the small on-site mill. Guests can explore a small orchard with local fruit varieties, a medicinal herb garden, mainly lavender, for essential oils and aromatic waters, and a woodland area for experimental food forests and nature trails. Sheep, geese, ducks, and Silver Livorno chickens help maintain the land naturally.

Yes, we cater to most common diets, please indicate your dietary requirements during the registration process.

There is a small pool to refresh during the day, but there are beautiful natural places nearby for swimming.

There is a small kitchenette available for students to use for very basic cooking. If you would like to cook something more elaborate you can speak with the kitchen teachers to see what can be done. We do not recommend planning to cook for yourself every day.

We will offer 4 to 8 scholarships discounted at 50% depending on the total registrations. Alternatively you could apply as a volunteer for two months from June till August and help out organising Kora’s summer events!
